Top 10 Stolen Vehicles in Ontario 2023 Update
November, 2023
Of course cheap auto insurance is what you’re looking for when it comes to coverage. Finding the best insurance rates possible is dependant on so many different factors – a major one being the vehicle you drive. Its likelihood of being involved in an auto insurance claim plays a role in how rates are set and having a car stolen is a very common claim, more so than ever here in Ontario with record breaking theft rates being announced. If thieves have your make and model on their radar, it’s likely that you are paying more for your auto insurance.
As you can see, high end cars (regardless of whether it’s a truck, SUV or sedan) are often a target for their lucrative returns in the resale and export of stolen vehicles, with SUVs being particularily popular. Even though you might think that newer cars should be harder to steal, as the list shows, all that new technology, such as keyless entry fobs, are easily circumvented by tech savvy thieves. If you’d like to learn more about some of the trends in auto fraud, check out this post.
As we’ve done for the last few years (check out 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022), let’s take a look at the top 10 stolen vehicles in Ontario that have just been released.
